The Anxiety & Phobia Workbook, 4th edition

As any sufferer of anxiety knows, anxiety and panic are hell. To make things worse, the condition is one of the most misunderstood and maligned torments anyone could have to bear.
Anxiety sufferers grow-up believing that their damaged view of the world where so much is unpredictable, out to get them and just generally unpleasant, is a natural state of affairs. Support (although getting easier to find now) seems unobtainable often and the stigma attached to any mental disorder only adds to the frightening nature of the illness and its debilitating effect on an individual.
It doesn’t have to be that way. Mental exercises, breaking patterns of negative behaviour (which in turn reinforce the inadequacy), building self-esteem and learning to be more assertive in the right circumstances, can all help. Medication can too – just steer clear of those that think they know better when they actually have no idea what you’re going through.
This book sets out the facts behind anxiety and phobias in a friendly way that never judges or intimidates. It really isn’t any surprise that it is relied upon by both mental health practitioners and their patients. To make things even better, a lot of the exercises can be tracked and monitored electronically through the help of this freeware.
This isn’t a self-help book in the much maligned way that readers are forced to get used to. This book does a lot to help people with real problems become a lot more capable of living normal lives.
